YOU'RE GETTIN' OLD!

Were you seven years old when Clinton was inaugurated as President? Were you seventeen when the World Wide Web was launched? Have you been on this earth fifteen thousand days? Guess what - you're gettin' old.

This fun site was visited by over a million people in its first week. Here you can enjoy an anonymous report containing a timeline of important historical events showing how old you were on these dates. If you were eighteen years old when Jimmy Carter was elected as the 39th President of the United States of America - you're gettin' old.

This great place makes entertaining reading for you and your family. In addition you can get a print out for a friend or family member showing them all of this interesting information about their lives.

Make one for Grampa. He's gettin' old too!

REAL TIME STATS THAT WILL BLOW YOU AWAY!

How'd you like an assistant to keep statistical track of all the good things that are going on in the world at this very minute? Ok - you have one right here. The real time counters here will tell you each time a baby is born - each time someone goes to heaven -- and the net population growth for this year.

And (like the TV ads proclaim) - that's not all. The meters will show you that over 60 million cars have been produced this year. Guess how many bicycles. Twice as many - over 120 million. Really!

Did you write and publish a book this year? Wow - you're in a pretty exclusive little club with over two million other members who were published this year.

Lots of interesting statistics here!

The shrinking LIC apt.

Forget huge condo apartments for large families. In Queens, particularly in Long Island City, the average size of a condo is shrinking. A new development in the neighborhood, Madison LIC, has one-bedroom units that are at least 25% smaller than those found an an older new development called the View, according to The Wall Street Journal. The smaller units are a result of soaring construction costs and the influx of cost-conscious buyers.
The average square footage of Long Island City condos that are for sale has fallen each quarter since the beginning of 2012, according to a new report by brokerage Modern Spaces. In the second 2014, the average condo size was 828 square feet, 29% smaller that it was two years ago.

WHAT RASCALS ARE USING YOUR WIRELESS?

If you use Wi-Fi to connect any of your computers, their printers, gadgets, etc., or if you suspect that your neighbors or other rascals are tapping into your connections, then you'll like this little one trick pony.

Just put a shortcut to this Wi-Fi detective on your desktop, and any time you give it a click you will be presented with a list of all the connections currently using your account. First you'll see your stuff - your computer - your printer - your router etc. If anything pops up that isn't yours, you've caught a thief.

Simple -easy and, best of all, it's on the house.

LOGIN ANNONYMOUSLY!

You're surfing the web and come upon a site that promises some content that interests you. But they will not let you get to it until you reveal a bunch of personal information. You hesitate because you don't want to get bombarded with spam or have your information sold to the guys with the black hats.

These folks come to the rescue with a system that generates a random spoof name (Lamont Cranston, for example), address, username, password, and a phony baloney (but usable) email address. They let you save the generated random profile for 30 days so you can bookmark and use it for that period. After 30 days Lamont's profile is deleted and disappears forever.

Tricky - with no cost to you -- and it will give you a bit of security, serenity and peace of mind.

GET MASHED MAPS!

What's a mashup? Well, on the web, Wikipedia defines it like this, "A mashup, in web development, is a web page, or web application, that uses content from more than one source to create a single new service displayed in a single graphical interface." Here's a good example, where you can enter any address you wish and get three graphical representations, side by side, with one click.

First you will see a regular street map allowing you to zoom in or out to aid you with pinpointing the address locally or globally. This view can be manipulated in all the usual ways - including a satellite view.

On the same page you can maneuver around in street view to get a good sense of the structure and neighborhood. Still on the same page you will see a vivid bird's eye view of the same location -- in all its glory.

Great place to start when checking out a location!
